Dr. Shomaker, serves as DaVita’s Dream Team and Polaris Group Medical Director. He was raised in Atlanta, GA and trained at Wake Forest University for both residency and fellowship in Nephrology. He spent the bulk of his clinical practice years in Denver, CO and lives there with his 2 teenage boys. His medical interests have included managing kidney transplant patients, and working with patients with rare renal disease, such as Fabry’s disease and complement disorders. Dr. Shomaker also has started a physician wellness movement in the Denver metro area and has served as a chief wellness officer at a private hospital within Denver.
He is dedicated to charitable work donating his time to several non-profits, which include serving on the medical advisory board of the American Transplant Foundation and medical mission trips with Davita’s Bridge of Life. His outside interests include snowboarding, road biking, golfing, yoga and anything wellness related.
