Ingredients
- 1/3 cup bell pepper
- 1/4 cup onion
- 6 Ritz® low-salt crackers
- 1 large egg
- 1 pound crab meat
- 1/4 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- dash cayenne pepper
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
Preparation
- Finely chop bell pepper and onion. Crush crackers.
- Combine all ingredients listed above except the oil; shape into 6 patties.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook patties for approximately 4 to 5 minutes, or until browned.
- Flip patties and cook other side until browned, about 4 minutes.
- Serve warm.
Helpful hints
- Adjust seasoning to taste. Avoid adding additional ingredients that increase sodium content.
- Fresh or pasteurized crab meat is the lowest in sodium. Frozen and canned crab meat usually has added sodium preservatives.
