Ingredients
- 4 large heads of garlic
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400° F.
- Remove the outer papery skin of garlic heads, leaving the cloves intact.
- Cut the top 1/4-inch off garlic heads to expose the cloves.
- In a small baking dish place heads with cut side up. Pour oil over garlic heads. Cover with foil and bake for 45 to 60 minutes or until cloves are soft. Let cool, then pull or squeeze garlic cloves from the skins.
Helpful hints
- Add roasted garlic to recipes, spread on toasted bread, or stir into sour cream or Greek yogurt to make a dip.
- Store unused garlic in the refrigerator or freezer.

Thank you Sara ! My blood pressure medicine was becoming less and less effective, and the other night my BP was really high. I had heard that garlic is known to lower BP, so have been eating 2 cloves a day and can see my BP stabilize at a good range (ie 111/66) within an hour of eating a clove. I love roasted garlic and really appreciate you sharing this recipe... Best to You!
