BACK TO RESULTS \\ Diet & Nutrition Recipes Strawberry Rhubarb Applesauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 cup rhubarb
  • 1 cup strawberries, unsweetened, frozen
  • 2-3/4 cups applesauce, unsweetened

Preparation

  1. In a medium saucepan combine all ingredients and cook over medium heat until rhubarb is soft.
  2. Add more honey if sauce is too tart.
  3. Serve with chunky fruit pieces or process in a food processor or blender for a smooth sauce. Serve hot or chilled.

Helpful hints

  • Serve as a sauce for meat or poultry or increase to 1/2 cup and serve as a dessert.
  • Keep sauce in the refrigerator for one week or freeze part of it for later.
