Ingredients

  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

Preparation

  1. Crush garlic. Whisk together first 5 ingredients and blend well.
  2. Slowly whisk in olive oil until ingredients no longer separate.
  3. Store remaining dressing in a tightly sealed jar and refrigerator until ready to serve. Keeps for 2 weeks.

Helpful hints

  • This dressing is great served over crisp Romaine lettuce with grilled steak or chicken for a tasty entrée salad.
  • If available, use aged balsamic vinegar for a perfect balance of acid and sweet flavors.
