Ingredients
- 4 egg whites
- 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
- 1 cup sugar
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 200° F.
- In a mixing bowl combine ingredients and beat until stiff peaks form.
- Spoon onto a foil covered cookie sheet (or pipe to make them look pretty).
- Bake for 2 hours. Turn oven off.
- Leave meringues in oven for at least 2 additional hours (until completely cool) or overnight.
- Carefully peel off foil and store in an airtight container.
Helpful hints
- Vanilla sugar is granulated sugar flavored with a vanilla bean. You can substitute 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and granulated sugar.
