BACK TO RESULTS \\ Diet & Nutrition Recipes Sausage, Egg and Cheese Bagel Thin

Ingredients

  • nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 egg
  • 1 plain bagel thin
  • 1 turkey sausage patty
  • 1 tablespoon shredded natural sharp cheddar cheese

Preparation

  1. In a small skillet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray, pour egg and cook and scramble over medium low heat. When egg appears almost cooked through, turn over with a spatula and cook an additional 30 seconds.
  2. Toast bagel thins.
  3. Place turkey sausage patty on a plate, cover with a paper towel and cook in the microwave for 1 minute or the time recommended on package.
  4. Assemble cooked egg on bagel thin (fold to fit bagel thins). Top with sausage patty, then sharp cheddar cheese and remaining bagel thin half.

Helpful hints

Sandwiches can be prepared ahead of time and reheated in the morning. They can last in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.

This recipe is lower in sodium than similar fast foods sandwiches. They can range from ~900-1490 mg of sodium.
