Ingredients
- 4 slices white bread, 3/4″ thick
- 4 eggs
- 1-1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400º F.
- Trim crust and cut bread in half diagonally.
- Beat egg slightly and add to almond milk.
- Pour oil into a skillet and heat.
- Dip bread into egg mixture. Fry in oil until brown on both sides.
- Place browned toast pieces on a hot, baking sheet. Cook for 4 minutes in the oven to puff the toast.
- Remove from oven and drain on paper towel if needed. Serve immediately with powdered sugar, syrup or jelly.
