Ingredients
- 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 cup strawberries, fresh or unsweetened frozen
- 1 tablespoon sugar or preferred sweetener
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
Preparation
- In a blender combine strawberries, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon sugar or Splenda®. Blend until smooth.
- With blender running, add 1/2 cup ice cubes, one at a time, through opening in lid until beverage is slushy.
- Sip slowly to enjoy.
Helpful hints
- If desired, add 1/3 cup lemonade base or sugar free lemon base from the DaVita recipe instead of the fresh lemon juice. The low sugar version made with sugar free lemonade base and sugar free sweetener has 50 calories and 13 g carbohydrate. Count as 1 low potassium fruit and one carbohydrate choice.
