BACK TO RESULTS \\ Diet & Nutrition Recipes Hawaiian Rice

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup raw mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup bean sprouts
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup canned  pineapple tidbits, in unsweetened juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ginger root
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups  brown rice, cooked

Preparation

  1. Slice mushrooms, chop bell peppers and mince ginger root.
  2. Spray a nonstick frying pan with cooking spray. Sauté mushrooms, bean sprouts, and bell pepper.
  3. Add pineapple, soy sauce, ginger root and salt. Stir and heat thoroughly.
  4. Mix into hot rice and serve.

Helpful hints

  • For a one-dish meal add shrimp or chicken.
  • 1 cup uncooked rice yields 2 cups cooked rice.
